Case Studies - Energy Survey

Nature of Project: Hospital energy survey and development of a low energy, low carbon strategy.

Client: NHS Trust Hospital (285 Bed Acute Hospital)

Teamwork's Role: Teamwork were appointed to review all energy used at the hospital and to carry out a site survey to identify specific opportunities to save energy and to lower the carbon footprint. In addition, we were required to develop a strategy working with the hospital that would deliver savings within and agreed timescale. Work on developing an implementation strategy is currently ongoing.

Form of contract: Detailed proposal document provided by Teamwork clearly stating deliverables and time scale. Appointed via the Trusts Purchase Order.

Tangible benefits: The survey report identified energy cost savings of £304K (28%) and CO2 savings of 2467 Tonnes (31%).

Non Tangible Benefits: The hospital trust recognised the need for a staff awareness campaign if it were to meet the government reduction targets.
